FIT has developed a specialty week program designed specifically for the active senior.  All activities have been modified from the standard FIT program to accommodate older individuals looking for a program of fun, adventure, rejuvenation and health education.

Tours available for custom groups of 10 or more participants.

Who is considered an active senior and how does the program differ from the regular FIT Tour?

Our program is one based on rejuvenation through sustained physical activity, healthy nutrition and loving support.  Participants must be in good health and be able to walk on varying terrain for at least two hours a day.  An enjoyable and appropriate pace will be set during each guided walk.

Our yoga, Pilates, strength and core building programs have been modified to suit the active senior.  Classes will be taught at an appropriate pace with an emphasis on improving range of motion and stability.  We take into consideration that this may be the first time that many of our active seniors will have participated in these types of programs.  After experiencing the benefits of these activities, we believe that this will become a way of life for a healthier you.

Before individuals can begin the program, they will be required to obtain a medical release from their doctor, stating that they are in sufficient health to safely participate in an Active Senior Fit Tour.

What are the benefits for active seniors who partake on a FIT Tour?

People participate on a FIT Tour for a number of reasons: to rejuvenate, have fun, learn about health or begin/maintain the path to health and longevity.  Whether you have maintained a healthy lifestyle or are just beginning, remember that it is never too late to start. Through exercise and proper nutrition, you can feel and become functionally younger each year for the rest of your life.  The FIT Active Senior program can reinforce and motivate those living that healthy lifestyle, or become the catalyst to begin the path to health and longevity.  No matter your reason, you will return home after one week feeling rejuvenated, healthier, stronger, more energetic, motivated and educated in the tools for healthy living.

Daily Schedule

The FIT program is completely structured, from the moment you arrive to the day you depart.  Each activity and meal has been developed specifically to achieve our guaranteed results.

Sample Day:
6:00am – Wake-up
6:30am – Yoga
8:00am – Breakfast
9:00am – 12:00pm – Guided walk
12:30pm – Lunch
1:30 – Walk (30 min)
2:30pm – Massage – soft tissue
4:00pm – Resistance & functional training
5:00pm – Core & stability training
6:30pm – Dinner
7:30pm – Walk & Evening program
9:30pm - Bedtime

Sample Day 2:
6:00am – Wake-up
6:30am – Yoga
8:00am – Breakfast
9:00am – 12:00pm – Guided walk
12:00pm – Lunch
1:00 – 2:45 – Adventure (river cruising, white water rafting or float trip, etc..)
3:00pm – Free time / siesta
4:00pm – Resistance & functional training
5:00pm – Core & stability training
6:30pm – Dinner
7:30pm – Evening program
9:30pm - Bedtime
